Sheep Mountain, A Telluride Story

This was the morning of my grandmother’s funeral and Seth and I were rushing to get to the airport to fly home to Dallas.

I was extremely close to my grandmother, so I was thinking — okay Mamaw, is this some sort of sign? What could you possibly be trying to communicate from beyond the grave with all these sheep? 😂

I racked my brain and couldn’t come up with a single memory of me and Mamaw that involved sheep. As a kid, I don’t think we even counted imaginary sheep together before bed, let alone ever encountered a real sheep together.

Maybe we ate lamb once? 🤔

Anyways, Mamaw, if you are up in the clouds somewhere watching over me and are extremely disappointed that I couldn’t decipher your sheep message, I’m sorry! 🤪

Unless you just wanted to show me that Seth is a great guy who can have a hysterical meltdown while simultaneously continuing to safely navigate our Subaru through a herd of sheep (and multiple frantic herding dogs) without hurting anything.

If so, Message Received! 😜

Also, I learned a new word: transhumance 🤓
