I stand by what we say in the video, that we never felt particularly unsafe while traveling across India... however, this comes with two very important caveats, the nuances of which I feel are import for me to emphasize here:

1. When you travel with Bucket List Group Travel, it is undoubtedly Adventure Travel, but efforts are made to avoid unnecessarily putting you in harm’s way. Your itinerary never shies away from the more authentic and “grittier” aspect of a culture, but you almost always have someone assigned to you whose primary objective is to oversee your safety and comfort.

2. Buying alcohol in certain parts of India was downright scary. I’m going to cover this in another episode specifically dedicated to all things alcohol, but I would not recommend sending solo ladies out to run this errand. Maria did so out of respect for my sobriety, but I always accompanied her and, in hindsight, really should have gone into some of the sketchier establishments in her stead.
