New Moroxico 024: Spicy Time!

A Nest Built Backwards

A veritable nightmare for my construction crew, I not only lived on the property but also continued to travel and “Bring the World Home” throughout the entirety of the construction process. 😬

From Morocco to Bangkok to New Mexico, sometimes I felt a bit like a bird, flitting around the world, gathering up an assortment of strange and disparate items for my nest.

Frequently, I wouldn’t even know the exact purpose of the things I was buying or why I was bringing it all back home with me — the brick molds from Egypt being a perfect example.

I knew I’d figure it out later. 🤷‍♂️

The design of New Moroxico therefore had to remain somewhat fluid until the bitter end, as new and exciting finds were constantly being introduced; but once the walls went up and New Moroxico began to take shape, many of the supposedly purposeless items began to speak to me loud and clear.

A few times, I even bolted up in the middle of the night, as if from a vision, exclaiming, “Oh my god! I know exactly where this thing wants to go!” And then I’d run to my computer and start composing a huge, lengthy email to my contractor and crew foreman. 😂

I bet the construction crew often wished I was an actual bird… so they could just shoot me. 🤣
