Iβm going to assume that many of you probably picked out a few favorite Japanese maples from the video and are now wondering whether they would be a good fit for your landscape, yeah?! π
So, I figured Iβd make it easy for you β hereβs a list of all the varieties I showcased, along with their maximum heights and widths (in feet):
Bloodgood: 15 - 20β tall, 15β wide
Crimson Queen: 8 - 10β tall, 10β wide
Autumn Full Moon: 8 - 12β tall, 8β wide
Shaina: 6 - 8β tall, 8β wide
Waterfall: 8 - 10β tall, 10β wide
Fireglow: 10 - 12β tall, 10β wide
Red Dragon: 5 - 8β tall, 10β wide
Emperor I: 10 - 15β tall, 15β wide
Orangeola: 6 - 8β tall, 6β wide
Tobiosho: 15 - 20β tall, 15β wide
Tamukeyama: 6 - 8β tall, 10β wide
Green Laceleaf: 8 - 10β tall, 10β wide
Seiryu: 10 - 15β tall, 8β wide
βοΈπ€οΈπ₯οΈDonβt forget that in Texas, Japanese maples should never be planted in full sun! They will burn up. They prefer morning sun only and afternoon shade.
βοΈ Also, remember that these trees are famously slow growers, so I always take my dadβs advice β buy the size you want to enjoyβ¦ itβs likely to stay (roughly) that size for a while!
Happy gardening and I hope this helps!!
