And finally, here’s a short explanation for those of you whose question is simply “Yes, but WHAT IS NEW MOROXICO?!?” 🤔
New Moroxico is a house in Dallas, Texas, that strives to combine the ancient magic of disparate cultures with the mysticism of various exotic locales. From building the house around a 100-year-old tree to including outdoor areas for dining and bathing, Ryan Covington’s design concept also relies heavily on blurring the line between inside and outside spaces.
If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if you blended the adventure of an African safari camp with the charm of a Mexican casita and the luxurious exoticism of a Moroccan riad, look no further than New Moroxico!

Let's Grow Together: The Moroxico Garden Transformation
This very special episode takes you behind the scenes of one of the most ambitious landscape projects Covington’s Nursery has ever undertaken. Join Ryan Covington as he partners with landscape architect Steve Malone and Covington’s founder Gayle Covington to bring the New Moroxico Garden to life — a fairytale-inspired outdoor sanctuary designed from the ground up.
Follow the team as they walk through a real residential redesign and tackle 10 unique design requirements, including:
• Incorporating an antique door as the garden entrance
• Creating a custom structure to showcase a stained-glass window
• Designing a courtyard with multiple winding pathways
• Blending interior elements — surplus tile, décor, and textures — into the landscape
• Building a curved stone staircase
• Designing an overflowing “green balcony” covered in plants
• Constructing a wall fountain that anchors the backyard
• Integrating a mature, established tree into the new plan
• And finally… making the garden truly fit for a troll
With the White Rock Garden Tour fast approaching, watch as decisions tighten, creativity peaks, and the entire landscape team rallies to finish a transformation unlike anything you’ve seen before.
Experience the complete journey — from raw concept to stunning final reveal — and discover what it really takes to create a whimsical, fully custom outdoor retreat.
Let’s Grow Together. Enjoy the transformation!
