Moroxico 011: Lights, Part One

For those of you just joining us, New Moroxico is a concept house I designed with the preliminary premise of combining all my favorite aspects of Morocco and Mexico in one aesthetically beautiful and cohesive design. However, as the project progressed, it eventually just became an amalgamation of all my favorite things from places and cultures around the world (an improvement on my original concept, if I’m being totally honest! 😆)
Anyways, the portmanteau “Moroxico” had already caught on and was too catchy to give up, so I just let it ride! 😜
Case in point, in today’s video, you’ll notice I spend most of my time showing you light fixtures that are quintessentially TURKISH.
Which brings me to the part where I share with you how to source these beautiful Turkish lights WITHOUT coming home from Istanbul to find you have a suitcase full of smashed glass shards and broken pieces of mosaic globes! 😂
If you happen to be in Dallas, it is well worth a trip out to Plano to visit:

(And don’t forget to negotiate, lol— these guys are truly from Turkey, after all!)
Anywhere else in the world? Just order from a shop on Etsy called:
TURKISH LIGHTS
Or at
Turkishlights.net
In my experience, all 16 globes arrived from Turkey unscathed, plus the extra one they threw in for good measure was intact as well!
⭐️ ⭐️ And oh, Word to the Wise— if you’re ordering a corded light, be sure to explicitly verify that your light will be arriving with the correct plug for your country or you might be learning to rewire lights a lot sooner than planned!! 😜
