New Moroxico 007: Tilework, Part One

I knew from the outset that exquisite and authentic TILEWORK was going to play a very significant role in creating New Moroxico— second perhaps only to the curation of fabulous DOORS from around the world (which I’ll talk about in another video!)

It is impossible to travel to places like the ALHAMBRA in Spain or stay in a charming CASITA in Mexico or a RIAD in Marrakech and not come away with a fanatical appreciation (AKA, obsession, lol 😝) for all things TILE.

And try as I might to find an easy shortcut, it became quickly apparent that in order to achieve the caliber of craftsmanship I was after, there was simply no comparable substitution for going directly to the source— to places like SALTILLO or FEZ— where they have been handcrafting tile and fashioning mosaics for hundreds if not thousands of years.
